Results = Innovation + Strategy + Execution

Jim is an Internet business professional with over 18 years experience creating and driving innovative product and strategic marketing initiatives in the Internet media, e-commerce, monetization, social, local and mobile industries. Adoption of these strategies by C-level officers has driven significant revenue, achieved marketing objectives and created strong competitive advantages in both large and small enterprises. During this time Jim has served as a manager, director, executive or co-founder in 12 start-ups including new business units in publicly traded enterprises, later stage companies and Seed / Series A companies. Jim was also co-founder/CEO of his own VC backed start-up in the social-local-mobile space.

One of Jim’s notable accomplishments was at Yahoo Search Marketing where he authored Yahoo’s global geo-targeting search marketing strategy and drove Yahoo’s acquisition of the London-based geo-marketing data asset WhereOnEarth Inc. with an 8-digit transaction valuation. The corporate-wide application of this global geo asset and the innovative use of it across Yahoo’s online marketing services led to a multi-hundred million-dollar revenue stream and the establishment of the global Y! Geo services team, for which Jim won the Yahoo’s Move-the-Needle-Award within SDS (Yahoo’s Strategic Data Services group).

Most recently Jim led the product and platform team at GSN/Avaago – a new-to-market games-as-a-service platform company that creates profitable games from the data of live events in sports and entertainment.  Prior to GSN, Jim led Quixey Inc.’s partner products and monetization team that provided app search and app search monetization to partners such as AT&T, Sprint, Microsoft, Ask, UC Web, Alibaba and other Tier 1 enterprise customers.

In 2009 Jim left Yahoo to become co-founder and CEO of his own startup LikeList, Inc. where he raised a $5M Series-A funding and led a fifteen-person team to create and market the first social-local web and mobile platform delivering trusted local place recommendations.

In an earlier career, Jim analyzed the performance of top-secret aircraft at Lockheed’s famed Skunkworks after receiving his MS in Aeronautical Engineering from Purdue University. Jim left his engineering career to pursue a business career in the hi-tech industry. Jim received his MBA from UCLA's Anderson Graduate School of Management during which he received the Dean's Service Award, directed UCLA’s first Internet Business Conference for Hi-Tech Marketing and served as commencement speaker for The Anderson School's MBA graduating class.
